Get ready for a week chock full of information, prizes and unicorn
wrestling fun!
Three years ago, almost to the day, on the 10th
of April I made the smartest decision I’ve ever made. And before you ask, no I
did not decide to forgo a unicorn wrestling match (I know that was definitely your first thought). No, I decided to stop
playing Gladiator with the publishing gate keepers and start seeing what I
could do for myself. Enough of waiting; look where that got Amy Pond.
So I started this blog, as a place where I could share what
I’d learnt about ebooks, writing, publishing and marketing.
A LOT has changed since I began. Back when I dived into the fray,
all innocence and My Little Ponies and fairy glitter, Amazon hadn’t open its
doors to Australian authors, Smashwords was just getting started and Kobo was a
name I thought I heard once whispered in a dark alley by a leprechaun. I’ve
made my own path, and it was a hell of a lot more fun than turning my rejection
letters into a coat.
But frankly, my taste in website design was appalling…
What the E-book Revolution Site looked like 3 days ago... |
Kind of reminiscent of a brown paper bag with a crayon drawing by a five year old. I know you guys noticed, there’s no need for those polite murmurings.
So I decided to celebrate E-book Revolution’s 3rd
birthday it was time to give the old girl a revamp, with a new look, new shoes,
and a weeklong website relaunch to go with it!
Starting on Friday the 5th of April (that’s in 2 days) I’ll be having a week long relaunch party!
Every day for the next 7 DAYS there will be a new post on
independent publishing, and a new daily prize to be won.
I’ll be hosting a stack of entertaining and informative
guest bloggers who touch on everything from author branding, to anthologies, to
creating your own e-book app, to running events with your local book store.
At the end of each day I will pick the person with the best
and most insightful comment to win that day’s prize. So make sure you come back
every day and participate for a chance to win! Each prize is something that will help authors in their ebook and independent publishing journey.
Why not take a look around the new site now; there are
free downloads and resource pages ready for you to explore, as well as a brand
new multi-media course teaching authors how to set up their own emailing list
and newsletter!
Until then, tell your friends about the party, and I’ll see
you bright and early on Friday!
… sorry what was that? You want to know what the 7 prizes are?
Well, I won’t tell you what’s up for grabs on what day, it’s
a surprise, but seeing as you asked nicely… Here they are in no particular
order:
- A Kobo ereader!
- A one hour consult with myself to talk about anything from optimising your blog to a book marketing strategy (Valued at $200).
- Chuck Wendig’s set of 6 writing guides (250 Things You Should Know About Writing, 500 Ways To Tell A Better Story, Confessions Of A Freelance Penmonkey, 500 Ways To Be A Better Writer, 500 More Ways To Be A Better Writer, Revenge Of The Penmonkey)
- Print copy of E-book Revolution X2 (Or an ebook copy if you prefer!)
- A set of E-book Revolution Super Writer Courses up for grabs X2 (E-book Revolution Interview Series & Creating An Email List For Writers)
